Developer Services Procedures

The Fauquier County Water and Sanitation Authority (the “Authority”) is required by law to provide its services in accordance with various Federal and Commonwealth standards and regulatory requirements. An essential component of our ability to do so is our Developer Services Procedures (“DSP”), which details the policies, procedures and standards required for securing the provision of the Authority’s water and/or sewer services.

No statement or obligation in the DSP shall be construed to interfere with any additional requirements that may be construed to negate, alter or interfere with any requirements or conditions which may be imposed by the Commonwealth of Virginia, the Virginia Department of Health (“VDH”), the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality (“DEQ”) or Fauquier County Ordinances.

In the event of any conflict between this Part, Volume 2, Part A – Rules and Regulations, Volume 5, Part A Utility Standards Manual, or any other portion of the Authority’s Operating Code, Volume 2 or applicable rules, regulations and specifications of the VDH, or the DEQ, it shall be understood that the most stringent standard shall prevail. Our procedures are not intended to address all situations encountered in securing the provision of our services, but do establish explicit guidelines for their acquisition.

The DSP standards, policies and regulations have been adopted by the Fauquier County Water and Sanitation Authority Board. Conditions and modifications to these standards, including additional materials and equipment, are subject to the approval of the General Manager.
