Fire Hydrant Colors

The bonnets (tops) of fire hydrants within Fauquier County have been painted different colors based on available fire flow at the hydrant. Each hydrant has been rated in gallons per minute (gpm) as follows:

Blue – 1500 gpm or more
Green – 1000-1499 gpm
Orange – 500-900 gpm
Red – Below 500 gpm
